Freelance R&D Mechanical Project for Medical Test Laboratory (SynLab Belgium):

I have been approached by the Collard medical test laboratory to deal with machinery issue: at the end of the automatic analysis chain, all the used blood collection tubes were stocked in 200 units racks, but there was no appliance to empty racks and dispose tubes for destruction. The only commercially available device, sold by Siemens, is expensive and quite bulky. For nearly one year, along my studies and my internship in France, I managed this project from start to finish: conception on computer, calculation, negotiations with supplier and production facilities, welding and assembling, delivery and testing.

THE DEVELOPMENT

After Design and Validation phase, a final agreement with the lab allowed us to initated the order for manufacturing component with suppliers.

THE RESULTS

Since December 2014, this device has been used everyday from Monday to Saterday until now. Only quick maintenances were performed.

4L TROPHY 2013:

The 4L TROPHY is an Humanitarian Rally Raid for Student through the Moroccan Desert with a Renault 4L (About 7200km and 12 days). The goal was to bring humanitarian materials from Belgium to Morocco. This project actually started almost 2 years earlier, with the acquisition of the car, the renovation and preparation of it, and mainly the creation of sponsors partnerships.

Belgian Eco-Marathon 2013:

The Eco-Marathon is an annual competition, in which participants build special vehicles to achieve the highest possible fuel efficiency. Despites all difficulties and technical issues we faced, we succedeed into a performance of 182,12 km using 1L of unleaded petrol.
